This is the first corporate hire, because nothing else works until the numbers work. You start as a team of one with an outsourced bookkeeping firm behind you and build the finance function from there.

Compensation: $125–175K base + bonus + equity participation
Location: Los Angeles preferred, in-person

What we need

You have owned multi-entity close in a PE-backed or acquisitive business
You have been the person the bank calls
You can normalize a messy target's financials and say what they really show
You explain finance to people who don't speak it
You run your function without being managed

If you'll do it once, you do it by hand. If twice, you automate it.

This is the path to CFO. You build the function as the platform grows, from an outsourced bookkeeping relationship you manage to your own team as the club count climbs, and grow into the senior finance seat rather than having one hired over you.
